Game design is my passion and my degree.
Sandfall allows players to create Sand Bottle art on their mobile devices. The digitized experience overcomes the difficulties in acquiring sand and special tools, and encourages players to practice and eventually try out the real sand art.
Picotera provides an asymmetric collaborative space puzzle-solving experience where we explore the scale difference in VR. The two-player game involves one “small player”, who is trapped inside a doll house where they can move around and investigate; a “giant player”, who is standing outside the doll house and can manipulate the building structure to help the small player escape. The experience was selected as 1 of 16 to be showcased at the 2018 ETC Festival at Carnegie Mellon.
Wacky Safari is a seated VR experience built for the HTC Vive, in which the player sits in a futuristic vehicle that transports them through a safari park. The player holds a prop camera (made with a computer mouse) and they can take pictures of the many wacky animals on the way, and of course, selfies too! The game was designed under the requirements of using no instructions but only “indirect control” while ensuring playability for even the most naive guest. The experience was selected as 1 of 16 to be showcased at the 2018 ETC Festival at Carnegie Mellon.
“Using a computer mouse as the input control is surprisingly elegant” – Jesse Schell, CEO of Schell Games
